Dorchester Park Gala Event - September 25
Gala in the Park returns! This 5th Annual Dorchester Park Gala will sell out early, so order tickets today! The evening begins with cocktails and background music by several members of the Soul City Band, followed by an excellent dinner by Gourmet Caterers and an auction. Dancing and relaxing to the outstanding music of the Soul City Band complete the evening. All events for the 2011 Gala will be held in Dorchester Park - the Gala, breakfast and concert take place under the "big tent    (Check out 'dotpark.org' for More Information)

Adams Village Irish Heritage Festival 2011
The 2011 Irish Heritage Festival will take place in Adams Corner on Oct. 9, 2011. The free family festival runs from noon to 8 p.m., and will feature Irish entertainment, shopping, food and culture in Massachusetts' most Irish neighborhood, Adams Corner in Dorchester. Featured musicians include: The Joshua Tree, Devri, The Gobshites, Clancy Legacy, Robbie O’Connell /Aoife Clancy, Margaret Dalton & Erin's Melody, Sean Og Connors, and more.

2d Annual Free Cuts, Curls, Locks, September 6th
Mattapan's Finest Barber presents the 2nd Annual Free Cuts, Curls and Locks Back To School Event this Sunday. There will be hair cuts, press and curls, wash and sets and re-twist of locks. There will also be food and school supplies for children 12 and under (while supplies last), all free of charge. (More Information)

Leaf & Yard Waste Collection
Leaves & yard waste will be picked up ON YOUR RECYCLING DAY
Starting October 17th -Ending December 2
Place leaves in large paper leaf bags or open barrels marked “yard waste.”
For free “yard waste” stickers, call 617-635-4500
(up to 2 stickers available per household).
Cut branches to 3’ maximum length
and 1” maximum diameter.
Tie branches with string.
Place leaves and yard waste at the curb by 7am
